Graduate Recruitment Programme

Our CAs are trained to become leading legal practitioners. This is evidenced by the fact that CAs who are not retained by the firm have gone on and become successful legal practitioners because of the solid foundation they received at Adams & Adams. The skills we offer build independent thinkers who can identify and confidently embrace opportunities for advancement.

We are looking for high calibre discerning candidates who are willing to work hard towards their goals and maximise on the exposure and training they receive at the firm.

They must demonstrate:

• Self-motivation and leadership skills
• Strong and consistent academic performance
• Good interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
• The ability to handle complexity
• The foresight to anticipate things, composure under pressure, and taking responsibility for an outcome.

We accept applications from BA Law, BCom Law, and LLB students. To apply you must have completed the first year of LLB or second year of BA Law or BCom Law undergraduate degree.

At Adams & Adams potential candidates only submit one application for the vacation programme and Practical Vocational Training/ CA Programme HERE.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to one of our vacation programmes. The programme is designed to help the candidates and the firm to assess their fit with the firm.
At the vacation programme candidates will be assigned to teams where they will work closely with the partner and be assigned work that a first year CA would be expected to manage with the partner’s guidance.

At Adams & Adams, applications are reviewed by HR and by the partners on the Graduate Recruitment Committee. When applying, understand that you are already engaging with your future employer and supervisor.

THE E.V. ADAMS AND NONDUMISO MSIMANG BURSARY:

Adams & Adams offers two bursaries to two deserving students. The bursaries are named after one of our co-founders , Eustace Adams,  fondly known as E.V. Adams, and our dearly departed partner, Miss Nondumiso Msimang, who we lost to the pandemic.

The bursaries are awarded each year to students who display exceptional abilities, and whom the firm’s partners consider deserving based on academic merit and financial need.

WHO CAN APPLY:

1. Students enrolled at a South African University who demonstrate consistently strong academic performance. South African Citizens studying towards their BA Law/BCom Law/ LLB degree.
2. Applicants must provide their Grade 12 results, indicating that they have achieved a B symbol or higher in English and a C symbol or higher in Mathematics.
3. Furthermore, they must demonstrate their financial need for support.
4. The applicant must maintain a higher-than-average academic standard i.e. above 75% average each year of study
5. The bursary is provided to students with a view to employment as Candidate Attorneys at the firm when they complete their LLB.
